Gather - Product Design Case Study
Gather is a mobile-first social platform designed to help people form platonic, interest based connections through local events and shared activities. The goal was to move away from the pressure and superficiality of traditional social and dating apps, and isntead create an experience that feels natural, low pressure and community driven.

Goal
Many people want to meet new people, especially after moving to a new city or entering a new phase of life but existing platforms fdeel transactional or overwhelming. This creates a gap where users want connection, but dont know where to start.
solution
Gather introduces a guided onboarding and discovery experience that connects users through shared interests and local events. Instead of focusing on profiles first, the platform prioritizes: • interests • activities • real-world interaction Users can: • select interests • discover relevant local events • join experiences with others who share those interests
My Role:
I led the end-to-end design of Gather, focusing on both the user experience and visual system. This included defining user flows, designing key interactions, and developing a cohesive UI across onboarding, discovery, and event engagement. I created reusable components such as cards, chips, and buttons, while also considering different interaction states like active, inactive, and joined. Throughout the process, I prioritized clarity, usability, and consistency to ensure the product felt intuitive and scalable.
