As part of my Visual Communication II course, I was tasked with transforming a static poster into a short motion piece that expanded the original design through animation and storytelling. Rather than creating a traditional character animation, I focused on bringing the environment to life through subtle movement, atmosphere, and pacing.

Using my illustrated Cat in the Alley poster as the foundation, I carefully separated artwork into individual layers and animated environmental details to create a cinematic experience. Elements such as blinking eyes, flickering neon signage, lighting effects, camera movement, and ambient sound were used to make the once-static composition feel alive while preserving the original visual style.

The project challenged me to think beyond static design and consider how timing, motion, and sound can influence emotion and storytelling. It strengthened my understanding of motion design principles while demonstrating how a single visual concept can successfully evolve across multiple mediums.
